the financial payments that club sports like, soccer, volleyball, ect require, the glass ceiling financially is pretty low for youth football, and the best youth football is still basically "rec league" with Pop Warner still being the largest national youth league.
Sure you can end up paying lots of money if you decide to add on additional training, but from a pure playing standpoint, it is still very much a local sport with minimal travel required until you get to regional and national tournaments which only a very small percentage of teams ever even qualify for.
