Well the evidence says quite the contrary. First the stats show Westbrook with 7.5 assists per game. THT has

2.4 apg. Not much playmaking happening there. Westbrook can still get shots for his teammates.

Next, the Lakers traded Stanley Johnson and THT for 34 year-old Pat Beverley. Not exactly a great piece they picked up and they sent two guys to do it.

The Lakers traded Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell and a first round pick for Russell Westbrook and 2 2nds. Obviously the Lakers value Russell Westbrook a whole lot more than they do THT.
