said I would get a percentage of 'Operating Profit' instead of 'Profit' our second acquisition. In our first acquisition, we sold the company super early to wipe out debts and kept a percentage of the profits, assuming this would pay off especially if we ever sold the company again.
Oddly enough, even after selling our company for $150 million, I didn't even get a thank you card or an additional bonus check from the owner/CEO---and I thought we had a great relationship and typically saw eye to eye. Business and money does odd stuff to people.
