Your workplace has a dress code that says you should wear business casual. One
day, you decide to maybe make it a little more “casual” with your choice of shoe. You wear Cole Haan’s instead of wingtips.
Does this choice make you worse at your job?
It likely makes no difference. You bring this up to your employer. Imagine then, if your boss said:
“If I can’t trust you to wear wingtips, how can I trust you to close deals and perform your job?”
You would probably think it’s petty. How is this any different than this situation with Prime and white socks?
