The op i responded to said sounds narcissistic based
On the fact he punished a team member for wearing the wrong socks.

Was wondering how in the world he came up with that based on that??

I then responded to you asking for your other examples as well since you said there is a history

If there is history great, but f there is a legit reason fir the comment that’s great but i hear people throw that around all the time now days it seems like with any and every little sign of selfish behavior. True Narcissist is nearly incapable of showing empathy as they are so over the top into themselves and have such an inflated ego and sense of self importance that they cannot connect with others feelings and emotions and everything is literally all about them. If they have kids all their kids do is a reflection of them and they will not speak to them for a year or completely cut them off over something most of us would consider trivial. They usually do not try to understand others at all. Their thought process is usually how does this affect me and in situations of emotional distress for someone else they do not know how to act they will literally disappear or be silent it’s very uncomfortable for them. It’s a very serious personality disorder and very unhealthy for those who live with one over time.

In sports it’s tough to judge because of the nature of competition and winning etc. coaching can maybe seem like that to extent but it’s different because some of that is required to make a good team. You really need some real world examples outside of sports or coaching to make a case IMO. By the way I am in grad school now to be a therapist.

Anyway, like i said if there are good examples great but the term is thrown around casually way too much.
