My son's fball coach this year sent kids home if they wore anything blue because
he hates Michigan and is an OSU fan. This also included in the weight room. Too many idiots in the coaching "profession". Of course for some reason you have to be a teacher at this school to be a coach. During practice, if someone made a mistake on a play (usually O line pulling) he would make the kid to drops right there in front of everyone. It happened a lot. I arrived early to a field and saw one of my competitor coaches practicing. Just doing ground balls and he would boot the ball or bad throw and the player had to run around the whole inside of the field (so staring behind home run along the fence for the whole field). He would have four to six kids running at the same time. Talk about a waste of time.
To me its one thing to ensure people follow instructions, but I also believe it should not be at the expense of progress (workouts and practice). Give them something silly or annoying to do afterwards or make them wear a shirt of shame or something, but don't lose progress to make the point. It's the proverbial "cutting off your nose to spite your face".
