...until the world realizes the PAC isn't actually competitive in football and
quits including/ranking them. Then it will be even harder to get the respect needed for a ranking or autobid to get into the playoff.
For now it's being propped up by voter journalists whose vested interest is in the PAC appearing strong - fox guarding the henhouse - and by old perceptions that the PAC can play football.
But the reality is the conference sucks. They haven't made it to the CFB playoff in six years and rarely play and OOC P5 team (with/because of a horrible record when they do). The team that won their conference the last two years straight hasn't beaten an OOC P5 foe since 2019. They're 1-5 against OOC FBS teams and celebrate with a participation award for the conference's contracted bowl game. *rose emojis*
And that's only football. I'll spare you a picture of the basketball curtains.
