started 1-2 to start 2021 season trying to figure offense without Ty, then lost Aaron Lowe...and still bounced back to win the 3rd consecutive South, a dominating win vs. #3 Oregon and a dominating CCG win to go to one of the most exciting Rose Bowls in history.
You never like losing but in the bigger picture, it was a fun year and Utah kept overcoming challenges.
Utes lost Covey and 2 star LBs still started 2022 in the top 7, anchored by stars Rising, Thomas, Phillips, Kuithe and Kincaid.
By the third quarter in the Rose Bowl, none of those guys were on the field. There's only so much you can do.
How Utah returned to Pasadena with 5 other Pac teams in the top 20, after losing that talent from 21, battling injuries all season to key players, and still beating USC twice...is phenomenal.
Now they follow up with highest recruiting class ever. Keeping multiple stars for next year. Retain the OC after a lucrative steal attempt by Notre Dame. Cool stuff.
I'm proud of the program.
