I guess I am too simplistic. When we purchase a new car, I check what dealers
have available, what they will give us for any trade-in, and what they will sell the car for.
I don't care if someone before me makes a profit.
Maybe a real estate situation we had is a better example. We bought our house from someone who bought it at the guy who bought it at the foreclosure auction. The guy we bought it from wanted $30k more than he paid. The guy he bought it from only wanted $5k. So you could say we paid $30k more than we had to pay. But we didn't get to the first guy fast enough. So, while we wish we could have got it cheaper, it was still a huge discount to what it was actually worth and the best deal on the market at the time.

It's an absolute racket and rip off. Sad that we look at that like a deal. But just last year dealerships were charging
