Every conf and realignment period has its own objectives. BYU and Boise
Did essentially upgrade to the MwC. A solid upgrade from the WAC.
Neither did anything nationally relevant. Utah and TCU are the only schools to have won multiple BCS bowls from the MWC.
That matters, because the money and the viewership have even just one bowl game with total an entire year of games.
They both upgraded to P5 and have thrived.
This go around for b12 is about closing gap in P2. Adding higher profile programs. Creating stability.
The money isn’t in getting 1.5 mm viewers vs 1.2 on a flyover Saturday. It’s creating games that generate 4+ million viewers.
That’s where the money is.
Look at the numbers for KSU versus TCU. Phenomenal. Big games matter.
