I didn't realize we were requiring a special pass from society for religion.
Make fun of the other school or its graduates for being dumber, or backwards, or criminals, or nerdy, or Marxist or whatever, and that's totally fine for you. But if the criticism is about religion!? GASP!
Sorry, but that's a ludicrous take. Religious beliefs shouldn't be protected any more than beliefs about astrology, fossil fuels, socialism, etc.
We have to accept that no matter how dearly held our beliefs are, others see them as superstitious and completely detached from reality. And no, we shouldn't demand that they take them as seriously as we do.
