*Any* decent lawyer would push for this flexibility. If a new national super
conference comes online, or some other major step change such as what is contemplated by talk of an all new league/division, Utah (and I would expect BYU) would most likely be included in it. So of course their lawyers would strive to avoid costly/limiting contract language like 99-year agreements. It’s not a sign they think they are better than everybody else, just that they are smart enough to know better than to tie their hands if they can avoid doing so.

Anybody who thinks the BXII or NCAA will even exist in 99 years hasn’t been paying attention to the pace of change in amateur sports.
