I've been reading D-Day by Ambrose and I will be in Normandy next week
I'm telling you it's hard not to get emotional when reading about these young kids. There isn't much emotional stuff packed in in this book- mostly planning logistics and facts.

But when you read that near 90% of the first wave of attackers died on the beach it's hard to not have an emotional reaction.

I've been told by multiple people that the feeling at the American Cemetary at Omaha beach is much like the feeling you get in a temple.

These kids truly sacrificed their life for the greater good and they knew they were going to die and knew it had to be done.
