Was there this time last year. The museum at the cemetery is fantastic.
I stole about 3/4 cup of sand from Omaha beach for small bottle memorials for our kids.
kept the baggie open the rest of the trip at the rental to completely dry out the sand.
Normandy, and the beaches in particular are very moving with feelings of gratitude, humility, awe, sadness. This time of year, we had the beaches all to ourselves, save a lady and her dog walking the beach. A fantastic place.
northern France is amazing to drive and wander.
