Crazy to see all the negative reactions to your comment. A quick Google search shows these salaries

are in line with those of other nonprofit organizations (in fact, below some of the worst ones).

I think we have a supply and demand problem with CEOs. Every company wants them but there are not enough people with the right skill set to fill those jobs competently. Kind of like NFL QB.
