The damage Pope has done to the program will last
Pope appears intent on taking it to BYU as he leaves, making me wonder what kind of relationship he had with Holmoe?

With Pope leaving like this, he has basically designated the BYU job as a "stepping stone" to something better, which lowers the quality of the position nicely.

It appears he will not only be taking some coaches (which is so so) but also some of the better players and possibly new recruits. It so, that will set BYU back years.

If all this goes down, I hope Pope is proud of himself. I recognize that Kentucky was something big for him, but it's not like he was going broke here and that he could achieve success with a few more years. If he screws our program over on the way out via the above, for me his integrity is shot and he just becomes another money and status grabber, and that was completely unexpected. If so, he joins K.Whit on the ------ list. I'm okay with him taking the job, but the rest - if true - is another story.

I do wonder why Kentucky had so many turn them down? Do they know something about Kentucky Basketball that Pope doesn't. I'm sure that's occurred to him.
