people understand the time and effort involved to get a dollar amount. On top of that the dollar amount is almost never the same as what the insurance allows which is different for every insurance carrier. If patients press for it my office can and does give out amount we bill for a particular service, but again, that's not the number insurance allows and will pay. Billing just sucks and it costs a fortune to become a doctor and stay in practice and I understand the frustration with the costs. My family has a high deductible plan we pay through the nose for and still pay those price out of pocket for everything we do. I feel your pain.
