The police released the videos today saying they did not show the initial
interaction between Scheffler and Gillis. It was said that Scottie drive 10-20 yards before stopping so we obviously can’t see what happened before he came into frame.
To be clear I would be shocked if the police weren’t in the wrong here, but the video doesn’t show enough evidence to prove this yet.

Based on what I saw of the prosecutor a couple days ago in the initial hearing, there’s no chance charges get dropped.
