I go entire trips without touching the brakes. If I'm not pressing on the brakes, it's not using the brake pads to stop. Even my most aggressive driving friends aren't wearing out breaks on Teslas or Rivians. Btw, I'm not claiming they're more environmentally friendly, just that they generally have less maintenance and engine wear than ICE vehicles and that they're just fun to drive. I'll leave environmental and political debates to others.
