Yes and I pointed them out....
..and now you are just arguing to be argumentative.

I suspect very few fans would agree with YOU!

Statistics (and I am degreed in math) are funny things. They can paint a picture that is very misleading. In the last two years, which offense had the better 3rd down conversion ratio both years?

Arizona
Brigham Young (under Doman)

The answer BOTH YEARS was Doman. The problem with people who simply read statistics is that they do not always convey what is meaningful.

Which offense was more effective both years?

Arizona's!

When the Wildcats failed to convert third downs, it was usually before crossing midfield. Once Arizona crossed mid field it was very difficult to stop them from scoring. They simply didn't start out as many drives with the same level of success as BYU. The Cougars were the opposite, in that they would start out many drives and get one, two or three first downs, but then stall on the other side of midfield. They ended with a better 3rd down ratio, but fewer scores because they were not as adept in getting into the red zone.

Kick returns are a lot like that. You can have 8 good stops, maybe one halt is inside the 15. But the 40 yard return to the 43 (good field position) that does not kill your averages much and keeps you looking good statistically; can cost you a game when there is a minute left and you are leading by 1 or two points. I think any rational analyst, writer or knowledgeable fan on this or any other board would agree with me and not you. The only guy that might agree with you is named Nick Howell and it's HIS track record that I am challenging. I think Poppinga will do a better job.
