Honor code has served us well. Take away the honor code and we're nothing.
Travis Wilson was issued a citation for underage drinking last month. Suspended? No. They can't afford to enforce that. In fact, they don't have a team rule surrounding underage drinking. Just "No DUIs". So what was done? Nothing. What message was sent? Nada.

What's my point? What would you change in the code? How lenient would you be? By drinking at all Williams broke the code. Did we kick him out of school? No. What punishment does he face? He doesn't get to participate in one extra-curricular competition. Wow. That's harsh... not so much. In my mind that's pretty lenient. It's not the school's fault Williams drank or that he's the star RB.

What would you change? Make drinking ok with the code even when it's illegal? Or would you not punish kids when they have broken the law? I just want to know what spurred these feelings you're having and then am curious as to what you might change.

I agree with the what you said about the temple and the testing center. Problem is... what would that change? Beards, tattoos, jewelry, and other attire? What if we allowed all that? Fine. The players would still be suspended. Those aren't their issues (except for Blackmon and the earrings but it sounds like there was much more to it).
