Increased academic standards for athletes, extra competition for recruits, a P5 team forty minutes away, honor code, etc..... BYU's recruiting pool is much smaller than it used to be. We can get some top shelf guys but we have far less depth.

All of these play a part in the slide of BYU's program. Unfortunately any coach you get is going to have one hand tied behind their back before they even start.
