RE: Anyone who thinks Bronco is a good head coach, please explain...
#1: How does a good head coach hire 3 unprepared, horrendous coordinators?
Answer-I quite distinctly remember Cougarboard being quite adamant that Doman had to be our offensive coordinator because we couldn't afford to let him leave.. as for the others... Who would you have hired that is an amazing coordinator, wants to come to BYU and is willing to work for less than half of what he can get at a p5 school?
#2: How does a good head coach let offense line talent drop to pathetic levels from 2010-2014?
Answer- Does Bronco control who decides to come to BYU? Please show me all of the better offensive line talent that BYU turned away from 2010-2014. Seriously I have no idea please enlighten me.
#3: How does a good head coach mismanage time outs and clock poorly?
Answer/question- Please give me an example from this year demonstrating mismanaged time outs and clock management.
#4: How does a good head coach allow Riley, injured Riley, continue so long?
Answer- As the coach who watches his team play in practice in a day by day basis he felt Riley was the best option. If Hill doesn't get hurt against Utah St. I feel he would have started the rest of the season.
#5: How does a good BYU head coach oversee 54-10?
Answer- Bad games happen to every team. Lavell had a few of them also, go look at the Holiday Bowl 1990, or UTEP 1985
#6: How does a good head coach lose 4 straight to Utah? Usually favored.
Answer- Utah is a horrible matchup for BYU, their strengths match up well against our weakness.
#7: How does a good head coach have such poor views of such large segments of the fan base (Pharisees?)?
Answer- He makes a comment (that was correct by the way) and everyone focuses on that rather than what he does for the fans. Those firesides that the "firebronco" guys love to rag on so much?? ya those are for the fans, The radio show where he sits weekly with the fans and is very personable and lets the fans ask him questions?? ya those are for the fans also. He is very different with fans in person than he is in an interview. Go sit in on one of his coaches show at the President's Loge and you will see what I mean.
#8: How does a good head coach continue, year after year, to lose to lower talent teams?
Answer- He doesn't... that has been one of his strengths other than a few exceptions that he wins the games he is supposed to win (Utah being the exception of course( and yes that SUCKS!!!))
#9: How does a good head coach's team nearly lead the nation in penalties?
Answer- Has that been the case for all of his career or just this year? By the way, some of Lavell's best teams were his most penalized teams.

Not saying he is perfect... there is plenty I wish he would do differently but he is a good coach.
