playing at SUU. Taysom wasn't even recruited out of high school, he had to proactively come to BYU. I don't really trust that BYU coaches are great at assessing talent.

I absolutely agree that BYU has recruiting limitations. That's why they can't compete with the best. But we certainly have recruiting advantages over USU and Nevada.

Overachieving? Not a chance. 4 straight losses to Utah and getting blown out by BSU and USU does not impress me, despite the limitations. You think it's hard to recruit for BYU? Try recruiting football players to Logan. But somehow their second string QB and linebacker turned RB were able to torch us. That's not because we have recruiting limitations, that's because we got out-prepared and out-coached.

If you can look at the last few years and even consider the word over-achieving then you must have incredibly low expectations.
