excess, we cash them out for it and they use it as holiday cash. I like engineers and IT guys. They are loyal employees. They do take vacations but they don't abuse leave like the run of the mill employee does. Leave abusers tick me off.
Many on here will say, "If they've accrued it, why not use it?" Well, my viewpoint is that work shouldn't be just one of several available options for you on any given day. If your leave isn't scheduled well in advance, you are abusing leave if you are taking 40 plus hours a year without notice.
Many of us go to work many days of the year when we don't want to. The group of employees who are the worst are the 22-30 year olds. They miss work for all sorts of trivial things. One guy wanted bereavement for his cat's death. Sheesh!
