But I know that generally speaking the church gives high level council about the principles of keeping the Sabbath day holy, (rest, abstain from work, spend time with your family), but rarely gets into the specifics and leaves that up to the individual. If they specifically said no watching sports on Sunday I'm surprised, but that wouldn't surprise me.

As for the entertainment section, here is an interesting thing I recently found out.
