Geez why do so many people feel the need to put it out there that they don't follow a Mormon not at BYU.
Let's also cut the crap about how he would have fared better at BYU. We all know there's no hard evidence other than BYU fans wishing he came here and butt hurt that he didn't. On top of the fact that for many, it's worse because it turns into a Duke thing. It's more about Duke hate for many than it is about Jabari himself.
Where you guys are wrong is on this assumption that everyone is just "outside of BYU i don't care for sports" fans. Plenty of people simply follow Jabari because they're basketball game and he's an incredible player, on top of being an outstanding person. No off court drama unlike so many other professional athletes you want to love on the floor/field, but are idiots off.
I don't know why so many of you guys have to put it out there on record, hey just so you know, i don't give a crap about this guy or that because I'm a byu-only sports fan. Who cares.
You're right, it is selfish. I highly doubt he's concerned about the extra couple of fans he'd have if only he went to BYU. He was the best player in the country out of HS and already had a huge following. And he will have a great career with plenty of fans. All of this "his life and ours would be so much better if he chose us" from fans is silly, and comes off as whiny and hurt. Sorry I'm not that kind of fan, like any other fan saying a recruit made the wrong choice.
I for one will follow him because he's an incredible talent in a sport i love. Sports are entertainment and he entertains. Simple as that. I don't need to make up scenarios for how his life and career could be so much better. Meh.
In the end, what IS your point? Late night rant to put down a good kid who made the "wrong choice?" heck, i know my post is a late night rant. but boo... Boo to you.
