I'm like Kougrage, I love following former BYU players and pay little attention to the wider world of sports. This, despite having attended one of the premier basketball colleges in the country and currently teaching at a basketball and football powerhouse school. I just don't really care about pro sports but I regularly check out Jmoney's blog on Jimmer and google "KVN and Detroit" with some regularity.
So yes, I'm "unknowledgeable" to the wider world of sports, but that doesn't make me a bad spots fan and discredit to true fans from BYU. Instead it makes me a semi-sports fan thanks to BYU. And FWIW (and to answer Kougrage) Jabari would probably would have been my favorite player of all-time had he gone to BYU. I don't fault him for going to Duke (I think it was the right move) but I am one big-time BYU fan that doesn't follow him despite him playing pro ball in my own state. Same goes for Manti Te'o.
