This may be the biggest reason why Bronco is not...
head coaching material. He does not like to recruit and consequently he does as little recruiting as he can get away with. When Crowton offered him the DC job at BYU he stipulated that if he came to BYU he would only do a limited amount of recruiting. The problem is that having a head coach who is an active and hard-working recruiter is vital to the success of a major college football program.
