RE: Talk about broad generalizations ...
Regarding your three points:

-"too often our teams go into games looking completely unprepared" - as if they just do nothing all week ... maybe coaching up inexperienced players during the week doesn't always translate to perfect execution on game day.

I didn't say the team or coaches do nothing all week. I'm not even suggesting their practicing was as ineffective as our S&C program was under Omer. I will submit that if "coaching up inexperienced players" is the reason the team isn't prepared, it is either making an excuse for injuries - which every teams deals with - or it reflects poor talent ID by the coaches because their more 'experienced' players aren't getting the job done and have to be pulled.

-"routinely opponents make more appropriate adjustments both in game and at half time" - how can you even know that? Are you in the locker room or on the sidelines to know what specific scheme adjustments are being made?

The vantage point for what happens on the field is no better from the sideline than the stands. Or on tv with replay for that matter. I'm not in the locker room, nor do I want to be. If a bunch of guys get together to watch the game and they can call the play BYU is going to run before it's run, it speaks to BYU's predictability and lack of creativity. BSU players said as much this year after shelacking BYU...they knew what BYU was going to run. Same goes on defense...opposing QBs have all day to throw on a 3 man rush. BYU got zero pressure on a base rush this year, which is exactly how Nevada and UCF came back.. Amazingly, when 5 guys rushed the pocket broke down, the QB was hurried and the D made stops. I'm not saying to blitz every down, but do what is working.

-"you will see another team have a career passing day against us" - gee, maybe loosing 3 out of 4 starters will do that ... we don't have SEC depth on our team, but were supposed to execute like we do. Yup cuz Bronco sucks blah, blah, blah

Your response about a lack of depth is somewhat damning about the job Bronco et al are doing. Lack of depth is their responsibility and theirs alone. Making an excuse citing injuries is ludicrous when you consider that the secondary improved when two of the starters coming out of camp (JJ, Bills) had their backups (Davis, Nacua) play better than the starters. Losing JWill was tough but Carter - 4th on the chart - did admirably when called upon. Stewart took a long time to acclimate (not sure why...lac of reps in spring or fall camp?) but he had a better arm than Hill and had a couple good games.

I'm not ignorant enough to suggest BYU should have a roster full of 4- and 5-star guys (though I did post here: http://www.cougarboard.com/board/message.html?id=13638877 about what they could do to revitalize the program following a template that is working well at a program many at BYU would argue BYU is comparable to...one with history, great fans, and unmet potential). I will state that I don't feel BYU coaches adequately identify talent from a recruiting standpoint, they don't develop talent to it's fullest, and they usually don't adapt their schemes (esp on D) to compliment the players they do have. A program like BYU - or at least how it and its fans want to regard it - should never be blaming injuries or lack of talent as reasons for an opponent going off on them. If it does, look no further than the coaches who let it get that way.
