One other point is that since the average working life in the NFL is only 5-7 years (I'm guessing on this, I did not look it up) any returned missionary at BYU has already used up 30% of their potential work life. I think I read that about 80% of BYU football players are RM's. The NFL isn't going to waste very many draft picks on guys who have used up 30% of their work life already. Since the only 2 draft picks from BYU in the last 5 years are guys who didn't serve missions, it is no wonder that NFL teams don't consider BYU to be a football player factory. I would say what we all have known since the days of Danny Ainge. If you want a good shot at some team pro sports, you need to forego a mission. If you think that a mission and the NFL are a possibility, then I say UFA to you.
