I'm simply asking people to place any segment of data into logical context. Comparing Utah of the 70's and 80's with Utah after Meyer is like comparing apples and hand grenades. It's much closer to compare Lavell's last 9 games with Bronco's 9 games against Utah. Still not exact...Mac made Utah a quality program...as evidence by having a winning record against Lavell in Lavell's last 9 years. Meyer took Utah to an even higher level. Indeed, if anyone inherited an established program it was Whit as much as Bronco. Bronco was coming off 3 straight losing seasons. Whit inherited an undefeated team.

The only thing keeping Bronco and Lavell from having identical records in the first 9 and last 9 games against Utah was a blown call. The knee was down. BYU...and Bronco...deserved that W.
