Utter garbage
For most of Lavell's career the game wasn't even close and it was a "rivalry" in name only.
That had zero to do with Lavell's approach to the game and everything to do with the different states of the programs.
In your world the second Utah's program stepped up and BYU's program stepped back, Lavell's "approach" magically stopped working.
