If he paid $60k for a legal hunt, how is he supposed to know if it is illegal?

If the guides baited the Lion out of the National Park, I don't think we can assume that he would know that was wrong, or even happening. A guided hunt like this relies wholly on the guide, he's just along for the ride until it's time to take a shot.

The guides are certainly liable, but I don't think he is unless it can be proven that he encouraged or paid them to break the law.
