I'm not talking about a preparer. I'm talking about someone giving you advice
and guidance but them not signing on the dotted line, just your own signature. (on tax forms there is a preparer line if you hire a firm/person to prepare your taxes for you)

I'm talking more like using TaxAct, TurboTax or again paying someone for advice, they give you fraudulent advice, you take it, follow it, sign and submit, who is responsible?

Maybe a preparer is more apt a comparison but I wasn't meaning a preparer or someone who actually signs their name to your submission.

I do appreciate your info however.
