Actually there are plenty of non blue goggles BYU fans who don't think Drew offers much as a writer.
Other media members have better sources, he doesn't have great sources at BYU and that limits any real insight he can give. And he doesn't seem to have great knowledge of the game so he can't make up for his lack of sources by offering an in depth analysis of the team. Basically I don't see anything that he offers that you can't see elsewhere, and I think other people have access to more info than he does.
Can you tell me why he is a good beat writer?
Btw I don't think he is horrible, but I don't think he is that good either. I think he offers less to fans than other media sources do.
