One could argue that the LDS Blue Chip recruits
are an indication of a trend that was slowly shifting outside BYU's control. Many LDS recruits now see going to a P5 program outside Utah as a great way to showcase their skills and faith. Every kid is different, of course, but the Utah schools in general are almost an afterthought for some of the big time LDS recruits. Its crazy.

That said, BYU has turned a corner in recruiting over the past 4-5 years in that they've been able to get into the homes of very good, if not under-recruited, prospects who would have otherwise had no interest in BYU. New markets & new approaches have brought in a lot of solid recruits in areas where BYU has historically struggled a bit (OL, RB, WR). Although its not necessarily all on Bronco, he is very "meh" about recruiting and does not take the initiative. We will begin to see the fruits of the "fresh" initiatives taken by guys like Holliday & Tujague. If the program maintains some continuity in this, it's going to be exciting.
