the "Meh" attitude is loud and clear
That BYU is an afterthought to big time LDS recruits is a huge problem, we lost Garett Bolles to that exactly, he is a huge loss for BYU recruiting, odds are pretty good he will be earning NFL money someday as the #1 JC tackle recruit.
Frankly if you want to assess how BYU as a whole is doing, ask yourself this question, what is the story with Mique Juarez. How BYU put so little effort, into one of the top LDS football recruits in the last decade, a good active LDS kid.
He is a miss of Frank Jackson proportions, and yet barely a peep about it.

BYU should have a punchers chance at any top LDS recruit, and yet we are lightly recruiting some of them, I think Bronco's recruiting has improved somewhat, the recruiting coordinator position was sorely needed, getting rid of Weber and getting Tujague and Holiday were helpful but there is still a lot of room for improvement, and some things are somewhat out of BYU's control (no P5 status hurts for sure) but if BYU doesn't reverse the trend of losing the majority of the LDS blue chippers, it will really hurt the program long term, and that trend is a more recent phenomenon that has happened during the Bronco coaching tenure, Lavell and Crowton were getting the majority of the top LDS talent, Bronco needs to figure out how to recruit those kids, it is against his nature, he loves the underdogs and walkons, but top LDS recruiting has gone backwards under his watch.
