And how the heck did she manage to get you to take on the debt that she incurred AFTER the divorce? It sounds to like you got seriously jobbed, man. My heart goes out to you. You're a better man than I am. I don't how I'd pull it off, but, I wouldn't submit. I'd rather go to jail than live as a slave to my ex-wife's debt (that only she will benefit from going forward).

Listening to your stories...and the stories of my friends who have gone through divorces...if I had even an inkling that my wife was going to leave me, I'd immediately clear out every account I have (including my 401 K...I'll gladly take the penalty) and liquidate every valuable asset I own on the down low. Then, I'm hopping a plane to someplace in the Southern Hemisphere so remote that it wouldn't be worth it to even look for me. I should be able to live out my days comfortably on that pile of cash in a developing country. I'm simply not going to let somebody take me like that.
