It's not the taking of funds that is expensive, it's paying to fight over it

If she suspects it and can come up with any reasonable basis for that, her lawyer will start investigating that. If she has no income, the court will order you to pay for all of that. I'm not saying that it will happen if you keep a small amount on the side for emergencies but if there is a significant gap between what you earn and what you spend and save.
