That is weird. I think the behavioral economics nerds have shown that there is

greater psychological pain from parting with cold cash than by swiping a card. It's easier to swipe a card for a $300 purchase than hand over 3 benjamins. But, I feel like you do about small bills. It's easy to throw a few dollars of cash at this or that.
