I would give Virginia a B/B+ and BYU a C+
Virginia (B/B+): hired a solid, consistent, 2nd tier coach in Bronco. He will deliver 7-10 wins each year, go to a bowl game every year, will run a clean respectable program, and will get more out of his talent than is expected. He will never be a Saban, Meyer, or Harbaugh and VA under Bronco will never be a perennial power. But being a solid winning program is guaranteed under Bronco.

BYU (C+): Hiring KN would have been a B for similar reasons as VA for hiring Bronco--he would have been the safe, conservative choice; Instead, we went for the high risk high reward but completely inexperienced coaching staff: HC with no HC experience, OC was coaching HS last year, DC was a DL coach, WR coach hasn't been coaching since we fired him 5 years ago, many other brand new coaches. Only reason this was NOT a "D" grade is due to who they are: KN knows how to recruit, TD was a Heisman winner with 14 years NFL experience, etc. The potential is extremely high with this group, but they are completely unproven, so no guarantees this won't be a major flop (I'm optimistic, but this could be a disaster as well, time will tell).

I think hiring Andy Reid would have been an A/A+; Bevell would have been A-/B+; Ken N B; Kilani with experienced coordinators B/B-; KS with inexperienced coordinators C/C+
