The most important thing to do...
Don't talk to a ward member.
They will convince you to go Whole Life and you won't want to offend them.
The next thing you know, you're sending in a check every month to a bottomless hole and losing your shirt while you're at it.
It happened to me. Unfortunately, I was the EQ pres and the guy was a less active member and I was afraid he'd go inactive if I dropped the insurance.
Eventually, I had to do it and I cancelled the insurance and bought term.
The guy stayed active too so it all worked out at the end.
