The fact that you have a kicker you have minimal confidence in, trying a kick from outside his comfort zone and yet you choose that over allowing your 5th year Sr to throw a quick out for 5-10 more yards - which makes a HUGE difference in the kick - shows the level of confidence the coaches have in Taysom.
He had already made a few very bad decisions on that drive alone, so I don't disagree with them on this.
Even on the first play after the kick, he was a half second away from charging into the line and ending the game. For some reason his head just isn't where it needs to be most games. When it is - I feel like the old Taysom is back. End of AZ, End if Utah, entire 2nd half of Mich St. Those were a dedicated, focused Taysom. If we had him all game, every game the QB discussion would be over. But we don't. We mostly have tentative, cautious, inaccurate Taysom this year.
