As BYU grad Stephen Covey pointed out, interdependence is a higher maturity level than independence. Apparently, this doesn't seem to apply to BYU. Unfortunately, BYU, with their top notch business school and strategy department, couldn't either negotiative a beneficial agreement or enforce one. They then, in an underhanded manner, sought to dismantle the MWC to support their own ends. The resentment is based on the attempt to destroy the conference, disrespect for traditions (in pursuit of $) and general fan arrogance. BTW, I believe everyone in the MWC wanted to maximize exposure for all of the teams.
