Again the attempt to destroy the conference never happened. BYU never tried to form another conference.
BYU trusted the MWC and took less money to form the MTN network and were promised certain things, the network then backed off those promises and Hair and the other MWC schools didn't do anything to help BYU get the things they were promised.
If all the teams in the MWC wanted maximum exposure for all teams, they should have forced the network to honor the promises that were made to BYU. But they didn't and BYU came to a point where staying in the MWC was simply not even close to the best option. So BYU made the right business decision and left. And that network that didn't honor the promises they made no longer exists, they would still be around and BYU would probably still be in the MWC had they honored those promises.
