Mack brown won a national championship at Texas but still managed to get fired. Am I saying BYU basketball should be as big of a powerhouse as Texas in football? Of course not. My point is that if a coach starts trending downward fairly consistently, it doesn't matter what heights he's reached.
I don't want to fire rose at this point. He's been great. This has truly been his worst season so far, but it's one season - I think we only need to start being really worried if the team looks like this again next year. That would constitute a systematic problem that points to coaching.
