So not really. Anyway, keep in mind that the euro is also a lot weaker than it
was when the article was written ($1.36/euro in Dec. 2012, compared with $1.15 today), so in US dollars, salaries today may well be lower than what was quoted in the article, even if they were a bit higher in euros (which, given very low inflation in Italy, and their terrible economy, is questionable at best).
