Dude. You don't understand how this works.
The reason many players don't pay taxes is because the team pays the taxes for the player in addition to the salary. So whether the tax rate is 5% or 50% it doesn't matter. The team pays it, and he keeps his full salary.

IIRC they also have a built in room and board as part of the package for all foreign players in most euro pro leagues
