I am of the opinion that Eric did his homework before leaving BYU.
He knew the odds of being drafted.
He knew the odds of playing in Europe.
He knew the odds of making the top league in Italy.
He knew about how much he would make.
He knew about the pitfalls of being paid or not being paid.
Do people on Cougarboard really think Eric didn't know all this? We all talk about how foolish he is based on what we think we would do in that situation.
I think Eric sought out advice from people who knew the landscape and what he could expect. After hearing and weighing that information, Eric and his wife made a decision based on their dreams.
Based on all that, I think the Mika's are right where they want to be.
